Entering therapy as a Mother

As a counseling student, I deeply empathize with the journey of breaking generational cycles, addressing trauma, and overcoming ingrained patterns within family dynamics. This process is not only valuable but also requires patience and compassion, often taking longer than anticipated.

Reflecting on my own experiences, I recognize the importance of seeking therapy before embracing motherhood. However, I admit that during that time, I may not have fully understood the depth of the therapeutic process. Now, as a mother, I see the significance of the patterns I've carried and the necessity of wholeheartedly embracing the tools and techniques offered by my therapist.

Through the lens of motherhood, I've come to understand that the inner child within me, particularly seven-year-old Jayda, still shapes my thoughts and actions. This realization fuels my commitment to daily self-improvement, both for myself and for my role as a mother.

Motherhood has profoundly altered my life, fostering growth and transformation in various aspects. It has influenced how I respond to challenges, redefined my priorities, and guided my choices in friendships and environments. Moreover, it has instilled in me a vision for future success in business endeavors. This journey underscores the importance of compassion and empathy towards oneself and others, as we navigate the complexities of personal growth and family dynamics.
